Senior UK Accounts Executive

Noida, UP

The opportunity

You will support UK accounting firms with the preparation of annual accounts for their clients, taking responsibility for assignments from the initial accounting records through to accurate and complete statutory accounts. This is not a task-based processing role. You will be expected to apply sound technical judgement, resolve routine accounting issues and maintain consistently high standards. During your induction, your work will be reviewed while you learn TCPS procedures. An experienced senior is expected to demonstrate capability quickly and progress to producing routine work that does not require regular technical review. Once established, you will review junior colleagues’ work, support their development and take increasing responsibility for coordinating and leading a team.

Accounts preparation and technical delivery

  • Prepare year-end accounts for UK limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
  • Take ownership of assignments from initial records through to completed statutory accounts
  • Analyse trial balances, general ledgers and supporting information
  • Prepare financial statements, lead schedules, reconciliations and working papers
  • Calculate and post accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other year-end journals
  • Prepare statutory accounts under FRS 105 and FRS 102 Section 1A, as appropriate
  • Prepare corporation tax computations and CT600 returns
  • Investigate discrepancies, unusual transactions and incomplete records
  • Raise clear queries and actively progress outstanding information
  • Manage several assignments while meeting agreed standards and deadlines

Quality and review

  • Review your own work thoroughly for accuracy, completeness and internal consistency
  • Apply induction feedback and avoid repeating previously identified issues
  • Progress beyond routine technical review of your own work
  • Review accounts prepared by junior team members
  • Identify technical, accounting and documentation issues
  • Provide clear, constructive and practical review points
  • Ensure review points are properly addressed before completion
  • Escalate complex or higher-risk matters appropriately

Staff development and team leadership

  • Support the induction, training and ongoing development of junior Accounts team members
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance
  • Give timely feedback that helps colleagues improve
  • Monitor work allocated to junior colleagues and help keep assignments moving
  • Identify training needs and recurring areas for improvement
  • Share technical knowledge and promote consistent working practices
  • Take increasing responsibility for allocating, coordinating and overseeing a small team
  • Develop towards formal team leadership responsibility

Technology, AI and continuous improvement

TC Professional Services aims to lead the profession in the effective use of technology, AI and automation. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to:

  • Take an active interest in the practical application of AI, automation and emerging accounting technologies
  • Confidently adopt approved tools and use them responsibly
  • Identify repetitive or inefficient activities that may benefit from process improvement or automation
  • Help junior colleagues develop confidence using approved systems and tools
  • Contribute practical ideas that improve workflows, controls and service delivery
  • Ensure technology improves efficiency and consistency without compromising accuracy, confidentiality, professional judgement or quality
