The opportunity
TC Professional Services is looking for accounting graduates and early-career professionals who want to develop practical experience in UK bookkeeping. You will receive structured training while supporting UK accounting firms with the day-to-day bookkeeping of their clients. You will learn to maintain accurate records, process transactions, complete reconciliations and support regular reporting and compliance requirements. As your capability develops, you will take responsibility for increasingly complex assignments and a broader range of clients.
What you will do
With training and support, you will:
- Process sales invoices, purchase invoices, expenses, receipts and payments
- Record and categorise transactions accurately
- Complete bank reconciliations and investigate unreconciled items
- Reconcile customer, supplier and control accounts
- Support accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
- Review records for missing, duplicated or incorrectly recorded transactions
- Prepare and post routine accounting journals
- Assist with VAT returns and supporting records
- Support month-end bookkeeping and reporting
- Maintain complete and clearly organised accounting records
- Raise clear queries where transactions cannot be resolved
- Complete assigned work in accordance with procedures and deadlines
- Respond positively to feedback and make amendments promptly
- Work closely with colleagues in India and the UK
What we are looking for
- A sound understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- An organised and methodical approach
- Ability to identify differences and investigate straightforward problems
- Willingness to learn UK bookkeeping, VAT and accounting processes
- Good written and verbal English communication
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Confidence to ask questions and seek guidance
- A responsible and proactive approach
Qualifications
Applications are welcomed from recent graduates and early-career candidates with one of the following:
- Com or M.Com
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- CA Intermediate, or part-completion of the CA pathway
- CMA Intermediate or another relevant equivalent qualification
- Candidates studying towards ACCA
- MBA in Finance with a strong accounting foundation
- Another relevant accounting or finance qualification
Previous UK bookkeeping experience is not required. Candidates with up to two years’ relevant experience may also apply where the trainee role remains appropriate.
Technology, AI and continuous improvement
TC Professional Services aims to lead the profession in the effective use of technology, AI and automation. Previous experience with AI or automation tools is not required, but you should:

- Be willing to learn and confidently adopt approved tools
- Be comfortable adapting to new systems and ways of working

- Use technology responsibly without compromising confidentiality, professional judgement or quality
